Description

Bursars entering their first year of study who possess a South African Matriculation Certificate (or an evaluated equivalent qualification) in the subjects and with subject grades that are required by the academic institution (or such equivalent qualification as that the institution may determine), for undergraduate studies. In addition to the above, meet any other entrance criteria as prescribed by the academic. institution. Bursars entering their second or third year of study who meets the requirements as specified in this criteria. Bursaries will be awarded to students enrolled in the MQA identified scarce and critical skills list. Preference will be given to students enrolled in Mining disciplines.

Who Can Apply

Those with a strong academic record whose grades meet the need for the relevant institution, and financial need. Special consideration will be given to female applicants as well as applicants living with disabilities The MQA bursary supports the following core mining disciplines: Mining Engineering, Mine Surveying, Metallurgical Engineering (Extractive only), Geology, Environmental Health and Management.

Full tuition and residence fees plus an additional cash allowance
Duration

Bursaries shall be granted for an initial period of one academic year and shall thereafter be renewable annually at the sole and absolute discretion of the MQA.
Service Contract

Employment contractual obligation of one year for every year of bursary funded
