The trust was established in 1985 by the late Mr Harry Oppenheimer in memory of his father, sir Ernest, and has a long tradition of investing in education and related fields. These are for postgraduate study at Masters, Doctoral and Postdoctoral level.

Who Can Apply

Individuals who are teaching at academic institutions and intend to pursue an academic career but do not have sufficient funding to complete their studies. South African nationals are eligible to apply and preference is given to candidates with a proven record of academic excellence, coupled with financial need, who intend to pursue careers in academia, research or related fields
