The Eastern Cape Provincial government through various departments offers bursaries to young people wishing to study further in various fields. Bursaries are allocated based on the needs of the province with respect to skills requirements for the following fields of study • Agriculture • Accounting • Auditing • Engineering • Finance • Information Technology • Logistics Management • Tourism and Hospitality • Marine Biology • Procurement Management

The bursary will cover the following: • Registration Fee • Tuition Fee • Books • Accommodation • Meals The office of the premier (otp) has entered into agreement with nsfas to administer the funds. • OTP will provide the criteria for selection and support. • Applications will be administered at the Financial Aid Bureau (FAB) at the Institution. • The academic criteria of the institution will be used
Service Contract

The bursary holder will be obliged to work for the department as an Intern for one year, directly after obtaining the qualification.

Students may apply at the Financial Aid Office at the institution where they intend to study. The first step in the process is to apply for admission to an institution of his/her choice. • Student is provided with Application forms for financial aid by the institution. • Student applies and is informed by the Institution of status of application • Institution will forward request for funding to NSFAS. • Office of the Premier will then transfer funds to NSFAS to cover expenses.
